I'm at work and ...This made me cry pretty hard. I'm at work and actually had to go and stay in the bathroom for a while! I'm hoping for the day I get my "you win!" papers in the mail from the Green Card lottery, hoping I won't screw up the interview afterwards. It really is unbearable to be stuck somewhere when all you love is in a place you're not allowed to get to the way you need to. <3Zimlicioushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06612760509201273857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1204156377297771092.post-22834670411011266472011-12-14T14:57:38.312-05:002011-12-14T14:57:38.312-05:00Don't wait on that novel!Don't wait on that novel!Erichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12966783411661865319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1204156377297771092.post-80754358855837125612011-12-14T14:55:33.025-05:002011-12-14T14:55:33.025-05:00Don't wait on that novel!!!Don't wait on that novel!!!Erichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12966783411661865319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1204156377297771092.post-30179967778391018922011-12-14T14:49:35.282-05:002011-12-14T14:49:35.282-05:00<3

By the time I got my GC I...I absolutely understand. By the time I got my GC I was medicated for depression and half dead with the stress of it. I didn't celebrate, or feel joyous, or even feel anything other than the conviction that I had sold my soul for this and that it was a high price to pay. I would have moved back to the EC, if I had known how long it would take and how stressful it would be. But once you've relocated your life, how are you to rip all that up and go back to where you no longer live? All of these immigration debates entirely fail to take into account people's love--for family, home, land, friends, work...I am glad to have my GC now, and I am glad to have the right to live where I love, but those years of endless precarity took a huge chunk out of me. I'm glad the endless visa renewal hamster wheel is over for you.Rachael Vaughan, MA, MFThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13377850240374666279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1204156377297771092.post-6834403641748691322011-12-14T14:31:20.681-05:002011-12-14T14:31:20.681-05:00I cried when reading this.. You could write a book...I cried when reading this.. You could write a book about the past ten years, and what it's like to fight to live here legally by doing it.. the LEGAL way. It's a horrible process that should have been changed years ago. Luckily, it is now over for you.<br /><3Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10804060876829055629noreply@blogger.com
